Final Update –
We received a credit for $1,198 for the service issues in August and September. We now have a cell phone number for the operations supervisor so we can get faster assistance in the future.
Update 09/23/2024
8:05 am – I received a text from Lucas at Waste Connections. Lucas is standing in for our service representative, Devin.
Over the weekend I sent Lucas and Devin updated photos of the dumpsters. Lucas stated he forwarded the photos and our service complaints to management. According to Lucas, there are requests in for immediate service of the dumpsters, cleanup around the dumpsters, and an explanation of what happened to our service.
As of last week we were also advised a credit for all of August and September up to this point has been approved. I am waiting for a specific dollar amount for that credit.
8:40 am – I received a message from Mathew Birmingham (Townhome owner). Mat advised the garbage truck was on site picking up the trash.
I reached out to the Waste Connections service rep to let him know the driver was there collecting the dumpsters. I reminded him the trash around the dumpsters needed to be collected. I also reminded him we expected the dumpsters to fill quickly because many owners were holding trash at their townhomes.
9:40 am – I asked Mat Birmingham to take a look at the dumpsters when he had a chance.
Mat sent me photos of the dumpsters with trash piled up in front of the dumpster. Mat was kind enough to clean up the mess… but snapped a photo of one bag he can not clean up because it is trapped halfway under one of the dumpsters. I immediately sent the photos to the reps at Waste Connections.
As of right now I am waiting for a response to my photo update and the dollar amount we are being credited for September.
11:20 am – I received a call from Tika Adams, Operations Supervisor for Waste Connections.
Tika stated she was aware of the situation in Almond Glen. She gave internal reasons but acknowledged none of that was our issue or concern. She stated she would be out to our neighborhood to review the site and make sure any cleanup that needs done is completed asap. I advised a neighbor had cleaned up most of the trash. She stated we are scheduled to have additional pickups this week to stay ahead of the trash that has been held at neighbors homes.
We are still waiting for an update on the dollar amount of the credit for missed pickups.
Update 09/21/2024
Update 09/20/2024
As of 1:30 PM here is the latest info:
BCS is not servicing our dumpsters. Our dumpsters are being serviced by Waste Connections – Charlotte. BC previously handled our account but is in the process of a merger or selling off portions of their route.
Regardless, they are aware we have not been serviced. We have sent photos and screenshots of various complaints. Waste Connections Has agreed to process a refund for August and September.
A refund is nice however it does not resolve the current issue. The service representative who handles our account has requested pick ups multiple times for us. Today’s pick up was missed “Because two drivers thought the other driver was going to get our dumpsters.”
Nobody is happy with the excuses. Nobody is OK with the excuses. Nobody has accepted the excuses.
- The board’s priority right now is to get the trash picked up. This has been communicated to the vendor. Our sales rep has reached out to his management with our photographs and frustrations. They are aware that as soon as they empty the dumpsters, everybody will go up there to dump another weeks worth of trash, which will result in full dumpsters again. As of right now, we are scheduled to have a pick up overnight.
Update 09/19/2024
The board is aware the dumpsters are full and overflowing. We have been in contact with the vendor multiple times this week. We have expressed frustration and dissatisfaction. We requested additional pick ups to get the dumpsters emptied and we have requested credits/refunds for the many missed pick ups over the last two months.
