Since Hurricane Helene impacted the Carolinas, the HOA board has been diligently working with the insurance company and a roofing contractor to address the damage caused by severe wind and rain to the townhome roofs. We have maintained consistent communication with both parties to ensure the repair process progresses smoothly and in a timely manner. Below is a summary of the steps taken so far:
- Week of 9/30–10/4: Insurance claim submitted.
- 10/7: Contacted by insurance company.
- 10/28: Insurance conducted a drone assessment of the damage.
- 11/4: Initial summary of damages received.
- 11/7–11/8: Roofing contractor performed an on-roof assessment.
- 12/17: Roofing contractor returned to take additional photos.
- 12/18: Documentation from the roofing contractor’s findings submitted to the insurance company.
- 1/3: Insurance scheduled an on-roof inspection by a third-party inspector.
As part of the upcoming on-roof inspection, please note that inspectors may need access to backyards to set up ladders. If an inspector is working on your building’s roof, we kindly ask that you keep pets indoors, if possible.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We will provide updates to the community once the repair schedule has been finalized.
