Food Trucks in Almond Glen

The Tradition Continues

The story of food trucks in Almond Glen began with the 2013-2014 Board of Directors, who first introduced the idea during a challenging summer. At the time, the old pool had been torn down, and construction of the new pool was underway. To keep spirits high in the sweltering heat, the board decided to use late fee funds for community events, including water slides and other activities. This was also the first time a food truck was invited to the neighborhood, and it was an instant hit.

In the years that followed, food trucks became a staple at small neighborhood events. However, the tradition truly flourished in 2020, during the height of the pandemic. While many businesses struggled, Almond Glen became a refuge for food trucks like King of Fire and The Improper Pig, providing a win-win opportunity: residents enjoyed great food, and the trucks received much-needed support.

When the Social Club formed, it formalized this tradition, ensuring food trucks like King of Fire became regular visitors to the neighborhood. These events became a hallmark of Almond Glen, strengthening community ties and creating a sense of pride among neighbors.

With the recent announcement that the Social Club is dissolving, many have wondered about the future of food truck events. Let there be no doubt—food trucks are an essential part of Almond Glen’s culture and history. This beloved tradition will continue, ensuring that our neighborhood remains a vibrant and welcoming place. After all, food trucks aren’t just about the food—they’re about bringing people together, and that’s a tradition we’ll never let go of.
